Did Obama's Speech Work?
Two days following Barack’s big speech on race, the cable news shows, blogs, papers, etc. are still debating the success or failure of this event.
I was watching Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning and they brought up a very good point.
Barack attempted to give an in-depth speech on a complicated topic. Unfortunately for Barack, we live in a soundbite society. That’s why we keep seeing those volatile soundbites made by Barack’s pastor.
If Barack had made a more succinct statement, he probably would have had made more of an impact.
Bottom Line: This country has no attention span! The speech was too long and now it’s hurting Barack in the polls.

The speech was nothing more than a vehicle to deflect the true nature of the video sound bites. Who could possibly sit in a church for 20 years and not understand the culture.
We all know that when Barack Obama went to Chicago to seek a political future, he joined the most powerful black church in the city. He embraced that overall package. For at least 15 years, long before he knew he would be a presidental candidate, he was part of the church’s culture and message. Then, as so often happens in life, something interferred in his game plan….and this speech cannot make the truth go away.
