Pasetsky's Three Tips for Developing A Great Celebrity Weekly Cover
It’s Monday and the celebrity weeklies are closing their issues today!
Here are some helpful reminders for developing a celebrity cover that will sell on the newsstand!
- Think about your reader! Where is the readers attitude with their favorite stars? Don’t put stories on the cover because you are interested in the story. Put it on the cover because your reader wants it!
- Compelling photos sell covers! Even when you create FAKE covers like Janice Min’s Us Weekly Lauren Conrad cover, it’ll still sell well because it has an amazing photo of Lauren Conrad. She’s looking at you straight in the eyes and her look is captivating.
- Be specific! Take a page out of a magazine like Stephanie Saible’s Woman’s World and create lines that are specific. General lines DO NOT sell big numbers on the newsstand.
