Finally, a gay-themed issue from TV Guide.

Oh, relax I’m just kidding!

In all seriousness, it really looks like TV Guide is trying much harder to develop stronger covers.  

I’ve been extremely critical of TV Guide’s covers in the past, but this one shows that at least they’re giving it the old college try!

Instead of simply labeling the cover with the name of the show, Ian Birch asks a somewhat compelling question about the big shows on TV.

Plus, with many of the shows returning with new episodes this week the timing on this cover is quite good.

Is this the strongest weekly cover on the newsstand?  Absolutely NOT!  But compared to the previous cr*p that TV Guide has provided to the newsstand buyer, this is an improvement.

Bottom Line: Sales will inch up because at this point many newsstand buyers are ignoring TV Guide completely.
