DO POLITICIANS BELONG IN CELEBRITY WEEKLIES?

Once upon a time, politicians were never covered by the celebrity weeklies or the entertainment shows.

That’s all changed, according to today’s New York Times.

“People are craving it,” said Larry Hackett, People’s managing editor.

Charles Lachman, the executive producer of “Inside Edition,” said, “It’s the greatest reality show on television.”

“When you look at the great celebrity dramas of the last few years, you have Team Aniston, Team Jolie, Team Heidi and Team Lauren,” said Janice Min, the editor of US Weekly. “And now we have Team Hillary and Team Barack.”

Will this coverage continue once the campaign ends?

My prediction is if Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton win - you’ll see non-stop coverage of them by the celebrity media for a LONG TIME.

But if hell freezes over and John McCain wins, the coverage will end very quickly.
