Big struggle.
Star turns an interaction at a club between Joel Madden and Lindsay Lohan into its cover story.
The headline “Nicole in Tears” is coupled with a very pretty looking pic of Nicole who is not looking too upset.
The line “Is it Over?” kills the cover. By asking the question, it basically tells me that the relationship IS NOT OVER.
What could save this cover is the photo inset of Joel with Lindsay dated May 5. At least it makes the story believable.
One other note on this cover.
We all have heard that Pete & Ashley are getting married on Saturday so Star places an inset about the couple’s honeymoon in Mexico. This is an attempt to trick the reader who buys the mag on Saturday and beyond making them believe that these are actual honeymoon pics.
Bottom Line: Weak trickery
