IS THE IN TOUCH FAIRYTALE OVER?
Pasetsky’s Cover Critique
Once upon a time in a land far, far away a magazine called In Touch launched and threatened to take-over People magazine’s top spot on the newsstand.
And this week’s cover offers a sad twist in that fairytale.
While In Touch does what it does best and takes Ashlee’s wedding to the next level by packaging this as a “Wedding Drama” feature, People Magazine has the REAL PHOTOS from the wedding.

How can In Touch compete against this? For In Touch to take over the top spot on the newsstand, which is still possible, it will have to start spending big bucks or it will face extinction.
In other news, it looks like In Touch’s tone is getting – how do I say this – NASTY!
Look at the sidebars.
Britney shows off her bump. For Gods sake, she had two babies. What do they expect? I think she looks great.
And Mariah – an In Touch favorite – is treating her new husband Nick Cannon like an assistant. That’s plain rude.
Bottom Line: This is going to be a tough week for the title – as it may even sell less than its sister title Life & Style. How sad.
