DOG CHAPMAN, SHANIA TWAIN, BILL MURRAY DIRTY DIVORCES
Pasetsky’s Cover Critique
Bill Murray and Shania Twain - I get.
Dog Chapman
- I don’t.
With People Magazine’s cover focused on Shania Twain’s divorce last week, I think this was a bad decision by the Enquirer to package these three divorces.
I would have just gone with the Bill Murray story or chosen a different story completely.
Perhaps, the sad Paul Newman inset would have been a stronger cover story.
Oh wait - look there’s Tatum O’Neal buried at the bottom of the cover. What a waste. This should have been the cover. What was the Enquirer thinking? My only guess is that it was too late for The Enquirer to make this the full cover?
On another note, if Queen Latifah wasn’t out of the closet yet, she is now.
Bottom Line: The strong headline can save this cover but in a competitive week, I don’t expect strong sales from this issue of the National Enquirer.
