US WEEKLY MAGAZINE FIRST CELEB WEEKLY TO FEATURE BARACK & MICHELLE OBAMA

In a year that looks like Us Weekly will have it’s lowest newsstand numbers in recent memory, Janice Min takes a risk and features Barack Obama and his wife Michelle as the main cover story for the magazine.

I think this is also the first time a national weekly has featured the couple on its cover.

I hope it works for them but…

it’s questionable if readers of Us Weekly are looking for a political cover.

However, the timing is somewhat good. Michelle is a big part of the political conversation. Earlier today we reported on the New York Times feature story on Michelle.

The sidebar on this issue feels very newsy, especially the Hogan’s inset. I’m also curious to see what the Hills’ Lauren Conrad has to say about her fight with Audrina Partridge. (Seriously)

Bottom: Obama cover risky but worth the risk.

They are married meaning they support each other. She is their for him and he is there for her. I hope he is the President. Anyways, it’s not as if he is sitting in the White House alone making decisions. Did anyone take Goverment in school?
