Is it over roasted swill? O wait, Starbucks has that market covered.

I disagree about Dunkin’ Doughnuts coffee. While Starbuck’s has a moderately better product, DD hardly merits a label of swill. Of McD for that matter.

As a dyed in the wool coffee snob, if I am on the road, I seek out Starbucks before DD or McD, but I will gladly indulge in any of those before I’d drink the poor excuse for coffee found in most restaurants.

But when I’m at home, we have two local roasters (Island Joe’s and Baby’s)that puts all three of those to shame, and these plus the occasional offering from Grounds for Change keeps my desire for something new and wonderful satisfied. Starbucks has no business sneering at other semi-gourmet offerings….they are far from the very best, and have their own shortcomings to acknowledge. But, then again, the biggest loudmouths are those that are insecure. Howard, your insecurity is well founded.
