DON'T CRY FOR JAY LENO

NBC is getting closer and closer to replacing Jay Leno with Conan O’Brien.

This will either be the biggest f&*k&p in history or pure genius by Jeff Zucker.

Only time will tell.

The Hollywood Reporter runs down a list of options for Jay Leno – who pretty much can do whatever he wants:

1. ABC – Take the 11:30 slot and push back Jimmy Kimmel. That may piss off Kimmel and make him move to Fox
2. Fox – Launch a late-night show on Fox, which has had little success in this arena, e.g. Joan Rivers and Chevy Chase.
3. Syndication – Launch a show that goes into syndication similar to how the Arsenio Hall Show was handled in the 90s.
4. NBC – Leno could basically have a show any other time of day – but they’ll have to pay him big time.
5. CBS – Replace Letterman in 2010 after Dave’s contract is up.
6. CNN – Do I hear another contender for Larry King’s spot?
7. Retire

Either way, Jay will be fine. Not so sure about NBC though.
