DOES SCARLETT JOHANSSON BELIEVE IN MONOGAMY?

I’m sure Ryan Reynolds, her fiance, wants to hear the answer to this one.

In the new issue of Cosmo, Johansson clears up what she has said before about monogamy and how people are not monogamous by nature.

“I don’t think it’s a natural instinct for human beings, but it doesn’t mean I don’t believe in monogamy or true love,” she says. “I believe in finding a soul mate. I’ve always been in monogamous relationships. I would never want to be in an open one. It’d be too awful.

Monogamy can be hard work for some people. I don’t think it applies to everybody, and I don’t think a lot of people can do it.”

What do you think? Is monogamy possible or not?

Monogamy is always an option, but some people genuinely aren’t built for it, and I’d say it’s perfectly normal despite how society treats it. I’m part of a healthy, well-functioning three-person relationship–we all love each other, simple as that.

There is a lot of sexual controversy around the subject, but really we’re just like everyone else. We have dates, we get each other things for valentine’s, we do the same things couples do and the sex isn’t that big of a deal. It’s purely romance.

Sure, monogamy is possible, and more power to the people who enjoy it. It just isn’t for everyone.
