LIFE & STYLE WEEKLY HIRES 5TH EDITOR IN CHIEF (IN LESS THAN 4 YEARS)

(Was the Hogan American Family Cover the Last Straw? Hulk is probably thinking that ‘I hope we didn’t mess up other peoples lives.’)

Talk about perfect timing.

It’s July 3rd. Most of the media is off for the holiday weekend and Bauer Publishing is releasing the news of a new editor in chief for Life & Style.

The latest is…

Donna Armstrong, who was running Australia’s New Woman magazine after leaving Britain’s More, both published by Emap, according to Jossip.

While Richard Spencer remains as editorial director overseeing both In Touch & Life & Style, executive editors Dan Wakeford and Michelle Lee head back to full-time duty at In Touch. This threesome was put in place about ten months ago.

This attempt to HIDE the news doesn’t bode well for the title’s first half numbers, which are due out in early August.

Will this new EIC be able to return Life & Style to its early glory - where it was the fastest growing magazine in the country and named by Samir Husni as the Magazine Launch of the Year - and (full disclosure) yours’ truly was GM followed by EIC.

Former EICs of L&S should get together and form a club–or a support group for emotionally scarred individuals. Michele, Dan–care to join???
