PEOPLE ENDS WINNING STREAK WITH NICOLE KIDMAN COVER!

This will not be a strong week for the category leader People magazine.

I’ve seen this picture of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban a thousand times.

And there are no new details on the cover about the baby. I already know the name Sunday Rose and read about that as well.

Plus, from People magazine, I expect to see the baby pictures. Sure, Nicole just gave birth and it would be too soon to show off the new baby. But, that’s why this isn’t the best choice for the main cover.

There are strong insets but newsstand buyers really focus on the cover story and this one will stall at the newsstand.

On another note, where’s the Christie Brinkley/Peter Cook story. It seems like this would be at least an inset on People magazine – if not the full cover.

Bottom line: There’s always next week.
