Josh Hamilton Hits 28 Homeruns; but Morneue Wins HR Derby!
Josh Hamilton blasted 28-home runs in the opening session that had the crowd of 53,716 chanting his name at last night’s Home Run Derby at Yankee Stadium.
“Banished from baseball and literally left for dead four years ago amid a desperate battle with drug addiction, the 27-year-old Hamilton – a former No. 1 overall pick of the Rays – couldn’t have written a more memorable chapter in his personal redemption story,” reports the NY Post.
Hamilton hit just seven homers the rest of the way and lost the decisive final round by a 5-3 count, but even the winner Justin Morneau felt Hamilton deserved the crown.
