How the New Yorker Underestimated its Influence

Today, the cable shows have been running the cover of this New Yorker magazine over and over again.

In his magazine’s defense, Dave Remnick told the Huffington Post, “Obviously I wouldn’t have run a cover just to get attention — I ran the cover because I thought it had something to say,” said Remnick. For the complete interview, click here.

Remnick is missing the big picture!

In this visual/digital age we live in, this type of cover is irresponsible. Many people in the country will see the image — and it will actually make them believe that Obama is a terrorist. And, many people WILL NOT read the article.

While the magazine claims this is satirical, it actually comes across as reality to many. And that’s the sad truth of the times that we are living in.
