IS ANGELINA JOLIE WAVING GOODBYE TO INTOUCH?
She should be and I feel it’s appropriate.
Why?
I still thinks its completely wrong that In Touch Weekly had the audacity this weekend to (incorrectly) announce that Angelina Jolie was having twin girls - remove the mistaken gender flub from its web site - and then act like they still had the exclusive.
I’ll get over it - but not yet.
Let’s look closer at this week’s cover featuring Angelina Jolie.
The main line says “The Twins are Here.” Is this the most creative thing In Touch could come up with? It’s obvious that they are HERE.
Also, notice how the mag didn’t put the sexes of the babies on the cover? Just sayin.
Above the main line is the “trick box” photo album. Does In Touch really believe that readers will believe that the magazine has the twins’ baby photos. Yes, In Touch believes that. I swear!
The reader is offered “all the details.” Are we going to get details like the sex of the babies? (Insert laugh track.)
Underneath the “All the details line,” the reader will learn about the $2 million delivery. Huh? Why is this first?
In Touch throws in the very tabloid line “last minute scare,” which is always tasteless.
Plus, somehow In Touch finds out how the kids feel. (I had an exclusive interview with Maddox via phone and he’s already working overtime!)
Inset on the cover story is Brad Pitt and he “speaks out.” YAWN! There’s no emotion to this line what so ever.
And here’s an In Touch trick. Remember how I told you that poor Jen Aniston would be brought back into the Brad/Angie triangle. There she is at the top right of the cover. The magazine wants you to visually believe that Jen is a part of this story.
Bottom Line: A lackluster week for In Touch Weekly
