When Senator Barack Obama heads for Iraq and other places overseas this summer, it will be a full-court press by the major network anchors including NBC’s Brian Williams, ABC’s Charles Gibson, and CBS’ Katie Couric.

The extraordinary coverage planned for Obama’s trip…reflects how the candidate remains an object of fascination in the news media, a built-in feature of being the first black presidential nominee for a major political party and a relative newcomer to the national stage, reports the New York Times.

My only question is whether or not the Obama girl will get a seat on the trip?
