OLYMPIC NEWS: U.S. Soccer Star Abby Wambach Breaks Leg
Abby Wambach, the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team’s leading scorer, broke her leg in an exhibition match against Brazil Wednesday night, sidelining her for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
This is bad news for the women’s team that begins play August 6th.
Losing the best player on a team is devastating, but Wambach said it best: “I’m only one player, and you can never win a championship with just one player.”
