AND THE SURPRISE WINNING BRANGELINA TWINS’ COVER OF THE WEEK? Star Magazine
I know. I know.
I’ve ranted in the past of how the celebrity weekly editors have overused babies, especially Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, on its covers.
But, this week Candace Trunzo shows incredible creativity and the photo director should win an award for finding this PERFECT Shiloh picture.
The angle on this cover is so simple and that’s why it works.
Why?
If focuses on “Shiloh meeting the twins.” And this picture of Shiloh actually looks like she’s meeting the twins. (We know how creative Star Magazine has been in the past to use a picture to support its main headline when the photo has nothing to do with the headline. Remember, Pregnant Angelina collapsing on the beach?)
One bad note on this cover. Like In Touch, Star throws in the equally tasteless “last-minute” complications line.
But, Star brings it home with the “Brad hugs twins to his bare chest.” Very nice touch! Star gets that the reader loves Brad and shows that with this line.
Star also features two strong insets. The Jessica Simpson weight gain is apparent by the photo comparison (however, they should have been able to find a more recent skinny picture of Jessica) and it’s nice to see the cat fight between 90210’s Shannen Doherty and Tori Spelling make it to the cover.
Bottom Line: Strong issue for Star - could cross a million on the newsstand.
