ESQUIRE'S DAVID GRANGER SEES THE FUTURE: Digital Magazine Covers Arrive in September

While Esquire has been making historic looking covers for years like the one above, EIC David Granger is introducing a newsstand breakthrough.

Magazines have basically looked the same for 150 years,” David Granger said in today’s New York Times. “I have been frustrated with the lack of forward movement in the magazine industry.”

That will change as Esquire introduces an “electronic cover” on newsstands that will flash “the 21st Century Begins Now” when it releases its special 75th anniversary issue in October.

For more details on how Esquire developed this technology, check out Tim Arango’s piece here.
