IS NIKE'S NEW SNEAKER CAMPAIGN HOMOPHOBIC?

A new ad campaign for Nike’s Hyperdunk shoes features basketball players getting dunked on in the worst way possible— the dunker’s crotch in the defender’s face.

Many people find these images to be homophobic and are demanding that Nike pull these ads.

As a sports fan, I wouldn’t think twice or react about this ad the way some opponents to it have reacted.

The sports arena is a land completely dominated by the homophobic jock, on and off the court; therefore, this is considered to be normal in the realm of sports.

But does that make it acceptable?
