RICHARD SIMMONS FOR CONGRESS?

Sweatin’ to the Oldies star and tiny short wearer Richard Simmons is on Capitol Hill today to discuss childhood obesity and push for more school exercise programs. He’ll be testifying in front of the House Education and Labor Committee.

Simmons, half joking, said, “I want to have the respect of a congressman, I want to talk like a congressman, and maybe, someday, I’ll be a congressman. However I can be of use. If my country wants me, I’ll be there for my country.”

When asked about plans to run, he continued, “I don’t know. I may run for office. You never know….After this congressional hearing, I will go home. I will talk with my Dalmatian dogs, I will pray to God and then I’ll see what else I can do to help.”

He’s got my vote.
