US Weekly Features Christina Applegate's "Brave Cancer Battle"

Us Weekly delivers a heart-wrenching cover featuring Christina Applegate’s cancer battle.

The dek delivers everything I want to know about the story – especially “the double tragedy of her ex’s recent death” and “how she found out.”

While the cover is strong emotionally, it is very depressing. And, this combination is a risk on the newsstand.

Moving on to the insets:

In much softer news, Janice Min and Us Weekly shows it has a sense of humor with its Hollywood’s real moms inset by saying “No Angelina!” Clever and funny! (So what, we didn’t get those twins pictures?)

Get ready for more Hills covers and Us Weekly will start rolling them out shortly. The inset of Heidi and Audrina is very strong. Does anyone else think Heidi is looking “fuller.” Let the baby rumors begin.

Bottom Line: Strong but risky main cover for Us Weekly.

Are you kidding us? Whats funny about it, it shows how bitter, bitchy and childish Janice Min is! Who is she fooling? No wonder US Weekly sales has been going down and down and down!
