Brett Favre is a New York Jet

After weeks of drama, it’s official.

Brett Favre is no longer with the Green Bay Packers nor is he retired.

He has been traded to the New York Jets in an overnight trade giving long-time suffering Jet fans a reason to celebrate.

This also marks the end of QB Chad Pennington’s career with the Jets.  An announcement is expected later today.

According to the New York Post, the compensation to the Packers is believed to be a conditional 2009 third or fourth-round draft pick that could become a first- or second-round pick depending on Favre’s performance and the team’s success.”
