Are You A New York Jets' Fan?

I’ve been asked this question today by at least four people – and I suspect that will continue.

Truth be told, I’m not – but I’m happy for them.  Even though I’m a Giants’ fan, I’ll be rooting for them to win.

The signing of Brett Favre puts this hapless team in a position to contend.

It also brings an air of excitement to a team that is second fiddle in New York/New Jersey.

What’s funny about being the question “Are You a Jets’ fan” is that it’s not one that I’ve ever been asked before.

I think it means that many of the Jets’ fans are forgetting Favre is at the tale end of his career and had decided to retire.   Hey, you never know?

What Brett Favre better realize quickly is that the Jets’ fans for the first time will expect to win. And, New York isn’t a fun place when you lose.

So get ready Brett. And, welcome to New York. (or New Jersey)
