Ben Stiller Responds To Tropic Thunder Controversy

Ben Stiller, director/writer/actor in the film Tropic Thunder, is responding to disability groups that are threatening to boycott the movie because of its characterization of the mentally handicapped.

“[The joke is on] actors reaching for roles in terms of hopefully winning awards,” said Stiller.

“Some people have taken this as making fun of handicapped people, but we’re really trying to make fun of the actors who use this material as fodder for acclaim,” said Etan Cohen, co-writer of the film.

Do you think that Dreamworks should make changes to the film as requested by these groups?
