Paula Abdul spoke with Perez Hilton about the addition of songwriter Kara DioGuardi to the judge’s panel on American Idol.

“This is gonna be a good thing. I’m really thrilled! For me, I’m excited as can be. I think this time around, it’s gonna work adding a new judge,” said Abdul.

Kind of a strange statement, don’t you think?
