LIVE: Hillary Clinton’s Big Speech

Can Hillary Convince Me (And Her Supporters) That I Should Vote for Barack Obama?

11:08: What a performance by Hillary!

11:07 pm: I’m convinced. Go Barack Obama!

11:04 pm: In America you always keep going! We have to get going by electing Barack Obama the next President of the United States.

11:02 pm: Hillary shows respect for McCain but says we can’t afford four more years of last eight years. John McCain and George Bush will be in the Twin Cities - and jokes that the two of them are hard to tell apart. Another great line.

11:01 pm: Hillary speaking about Michelle. Hillary says she’ll be a great first lady. And Americans will be better with Joe Biden with Barack by his side.

10:59 pm: Hillary talking about Barack and how he started. He’ll revitalize our economy and meet the challenges. Hillary says we did it before with Clinton and the Democrats. Bill looking upset and happy.

10:58 pm: Ok - I’m getting to Barack’s team 100 percent. Almost.

10:56 pm: Hillary makes transition from why she ran for President to why she supports Barack Obama. Smooth move.

10:48 pm: Sisterhood of the traveling pant suits - very funny!

10:47 pm: No way, No How, NO MCCAIN! Line of the Convention!

10:45 pm: Hillary makes first announcement that she’s proud to support Barack. I kinda believe her. This is her best speaking appearance I’ve seen and it’s only been a couple of minutes.

10:44 pm: Wow! Bill is really upset. This is getting really MOVING! I’m getting really upset myself.

10:43 pm: This has to be so hard for Hillary Clinton.

10:42 pm: Okay, I admit it. I’m thinking that this should have been her night (as the nominee). Bill’s crying!

10:41 pm: Wow Chelsea looks amazing!

10:40 pm: Watching Hillary video. I feel bad for her, but it is inspiring.

10:36 pm: Here comes Chelsea.

10:35 pm: Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Michelle Obama and her mom are all chatting. Michelle Obama wearing a cheerful, yellow dress.

10:33 pm: Random thought. Barack Obama should show up and take a photo with Bill Clinton tomorrow. That would be unity.

10:30 pm: Tom Brokaw brings up all the pain Hillary has had to do in the public. And he transitions to the big problems facing this country. That’s the point. It’s time to move on and focus on the country’s issues and future.

10:28: Convention floor is at capacity. Cool!

10:23: Peggy Noonan on NBC is saying it’s up to Hillary to pull it off for Barack. I agree.

Michele Norris from NPR says it’s going to be very difficult. But, Hillary can pull it off. Politicians are judged more by their defeats than their defeats.

Rachel Maddow of MSNBC makes the ridiculous point that Hillary needs to accept that the Democratic party needs to move past the “Clintonian” past. Stupid. Where does she come up with this type of s@$t?

10:20: Bill Clinton is in the house. He looks healthy and relaxed. New York’s Chuck Schumer is talking on NBC and they keep talking about how difficult this is for Bill. I’ve heard enough of that.

10:16 pm: Mark Warner is talking to Brian Williams on NBC. I’m not so sure he’s the next big Democratic star. I think he stole Angelina Jolie’s lips. HA!

10:12 pm: Watching MSNBC. Keith Olbermann asks when the Democrats will go on the attack? Good question. Why are they being such wimps? It’s time to ATTACK BUSH & MCCAIN!

10:10 pm: I’m bored with the pre-show. Time for the big speech!

10:05 pm: Ann Currey talking to Valeri Jarret, Senior Advisor to Barack Obama. I’ve never seen her before, which is strange. She’s trying to convince us that everything is going well between Barack and Hillary. Time will tell. Ann asked when is the last time Valerie saw the speech - and not surprisingly she didn’t answer the question. Ann asks a dumb question - will Barack mention Bill in his speech? Dumb!

10:03 pm: Chuck Todd just came on. He brings up a sad point that it has been 28 years since Geraldine Ferraro ran on the Democratic ticket.

10:00 pm: Watching NBC with Brian Williams and Tom Brokaw. It was mentioned that Hillary was working on her speech up to 20 minutes ago. Hysterical.

9:57 pm: I’m getting ready to watch Hillary’s big speech and will be providing my thoughts throughout the speech. Now, I must admit that I supported Hillary’s campaign and have moved over to Team Barack. Have I made the move 100 percent? Not yet. And like many of you, I’ll be waiting to see how I feel after Hillary’s speech. Stay tuned. Chelsea Clinton is coming on shortly to introduce Hillary.
