Life & Style Serves Up a Big Hollywood Showdown between Brangelina and TomKat!

On the positive side, this Life & Style cover is unique.
For years people have talked about the rivalry between Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
There were many stories about how Tom was allegedly jealous of Brad over media attention he received when he was starting to “date” Angelina.
Now the mag makes it a feud between Brangelina and TomKat.
The cover presents the two couples as bickering over a bunch of things and now there’s a big showdown.
Here’s the problem. The story feels more appropriate for Variety than it does for Life & Style.
There’s no love – no emotion. It’s a work cover!
On another note, Life & Style has two incredible cover story options right on this cover:
- First there’s the picture of Halle Bery with her new baby. If this picture could be made into a full cover and hold up, it would have been genius in a week dominated by Sarah Palin and political covers in the celeb category.
- EVEN STRONGER is the Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake “reunion.” Personally, I would have made this the full cover – even though they are reuniting to perform a duet. With their romantic past, the reader would be interested to hear much more about that story than the feud between Brangelina and TomKat.
Bottom Line: Too much like a trade story.
