John McCain's People Magazine Cover Selling Far Under Palin Covers

With National Enquirer, People Magazine, Us Weekly and OK! Magazinecovers, it seems that Sarah Palin is a tabloid superstar.  McCain, on the other hand isn’t fairing so well, at least in newsstand sales.

According to a source, the McCain family issue of People has not sold as well as the Palin cover and is even selling below the magazine’s weekly average, reports MSNBC.

“The early numbers have (the McCain issue) a good bit below their average — about 1.3 million,” says the source. “Palin did about 1.7 million, which is above average.”

A rep for People denies this, claiming it’s still ”too early” to know.
