Microsoft Pulls Bill Gates Jerry Seinfeld Ads
Microsoft is pulling its ads starring Jerry Seinfeld and Microsoft co-founder and chairman Bill Gates.
The ads were panned by critics, but the company is saying this is not the reason the ads are being pulled. Microsoft spokesman Frank Shaw stated, “All along we said we were having a teaser campaign. We’re getting ready to start the second phase. This was the plan all along.”
However, he also tells Valleywag that “People would have been happier if everyone loved the ads, but this was not unexpected.”
Seinfeld reportedly received $10 million for the spots, which were said to be a take on the “I’m a Mac, I’m a PC.” The company may still do something else with him.
