“I had a basal cell carcinoma, and it is scary when you hear you’ve got cancer,” says Ewen McGregor in Best Life.

“I quickly discovered it’s a very common and treatable condition.  I have very fair Scottish skin and light-colored eyes, so the sun exposure over the years just wasn’t good for me.

But I would hate to say I had a cancer scare, because it’s not fair to people who really have cancer scares.  In my case, my mortality wasn’t called into question.”
