Clay has made it official - yes, he’s gay.

It’s something everyone knew for a long time - but Clay did not want to make it public.

What’s interesting is that in 2008, we still are fascinated by one’s sexuality and that we think it is our business to know who someone is sleeping with.

Is it really our business?

The press hounded Clay during many of his interviews.

Indeed, he was point-blank asked numerous times about the rumors and to my recollection he was always quite awkward with his responses.

This of course led to the ongoing speculation.

Not to mention, he was never seen out with a girlfriend.

Good for Clay on finally coming out.

But, what does it say about our society that this is still a cover story in 2008? (I thought the People Cover featuring Ellen & Portia represented real progress. This just feels like “oh really, Clay’s gay.”

But shockingly, many of those Claymates will be stunned.

On another note, we get to see Clay with his new baby boy. This will help People’s sales since Clay’s revelation is not that surprising.

Bottom Line: Above average sales for People - especially with the baby pictures.
