I am shocked!
About what?
That Life & Style is the ONLY magazine to cover this big story!
This weekend when I read about the tragedy, I thought we would see between 2-3 covers focused on this awful event.
But, Life & Style was the only magazine to go for this dramatic story and it will do well on the newsstand for making this decision.
If it doesn’t do well, it will be because the magazine made the choice to feature Nicole Ritchie and Mandy Moore as the main photo image.
If anything, I would have simply gone with Nicole Ritchie. She’s much more connected to DJ AM than Mandy Moore. And, Mandy Moore has been completely out of the spotlight - not much hype around her either.
A combo between Shanna and Nicole would have been a stronger package.
But overall, Life & Style’s full visual package works well enough and the airplane inset is dramatic.
Bottom Line: Life & Style surges on the newsstand by going with the story of the week.
