But Us Weekly takes a risk and it will pay off.
Why?
Gossip Girl is a hot show watched by a ton of young people.
And, it’s the type of cover that will differentiate the magazine among advertisers.
What a great way to show that you reach a younger audience than with a cover topic like this one?
Finally, the story itself is compelling and the photo of Meester is incredible.
Personally, I’ve read about Meester’s upbringing elsewhere but this is the first magazine to provide a full-blown expose on its cover. (to my knowledge.)
