Network Execs Mad At Letterman For Using Internal Feed To Mock McCain

David Letterman made fun of John McCain earlier this week for canceling an appearance on his show and appearing on Katie couric instead.  In doing this, he showed McCain getting his makeup done on the internal CBS News feed and the networks executives are not happy.

An unidentified CBS News executives told New York Post’s Don Kaplan “If we had done something like that to him, someone around here would end up getting fired.”

“They were pretty aggravated,” a CBS News source told The Post. “But they were not about to start a fight with Letterman.  We’re in the middle of a heavy, heavy news cycle and Letterman is Letterman.  He does whatever he wants and always has.”
