Well, so much for Britney Spears getting back together with Kevin Federline.

This week’s cover of In Touch Weekly claims that Kevin and Shar are having “sexy nights at his place.”

Side note: What exactly is a sexy night at Kevin Federline’s place?  Is it listening to his rap music, watching his Super Bowl commercial or you know?  (Some children read this site so I’m trying to keep it clean.)

Back to the cover.

You have a photo of Brit looking desperately at Kevin and Shar – so that kind of works.

I would have used a picture of Shar and Kevin together (yes, I admit, I would have used an old picture.)

Then you have the main headline in “three” colors – white, mustard and bright yellow.  What a strange color combination and it’s quite difficult to read.

The first line of the dek would have been a much stronger headline: “Kevin & Shar: Back Together” followed by Britney’s humiliating betrayal.

Overall though, the tone is right on with this cover.

In Touch understands that the reader is on Britney’s side so any story that is sympathetic towards her will work on the newsstand.  And the fact that she might have been used by Kevin the entire time is sympathetic towards her.

Bottom line: Britney fans (and there are many of them) will buy this issue.
