Madonna and Guy Ritchie are set to divorce, reports the Daily Mail.

The couple are to end their eight-year long marriage as they can no longer keep up appearances.

Magazine’s like Us Weekly called the end of this marriage several months ago – but the couple adamantly denied a pending split.

At the time Madonna was linked “romantically” to Yankee superstar Alex Rodriguez:

Apparently, one of the main triggers today for the separation is Madonna’s ongoing determination to adopt a second child from Africa.

An official statement from the couple is expected shortly.
