GLOBE: Caylee's Mom is Guilty, Plus Oprah's Packing on the Pounds

In a soft market, People Magazine did quite well on the newsstand last week with its Caylee cover story, according to multiple industry insiders.

And, Globe should have a pretty good week with its cover hitting newsstands today.  (Globe kicked off the recent Caylee coverage a couple of weeks ago.)

Why will this cover do well?

• Strong main line – Caylee Mom Guilty.  It doesn’t get any more definitive than that!
• Dramatic main photo – Mug shots always work.
• Excellent details – Poor Caylee was allegedly buried alive and the body was stashed for 11 days

What’s the other reason this cover will sell?

Oprah.  She looks HUGE again.  I’m really starting to worry about her.  This type of weight fluctuation can not be healthy.  Gayle – you need to hold an intervention.

Bottom Line: Above average sales for Globe this week!
