Here is cover number two featuring Madonna’s divorce from the market leader – People Magazine.

People goes with the we’re the authority line “The Real Story.”

While the details are not as tabloidish as Us Weekly’s cover, they are very strong.

From fighting over the adoption of David, to her ‘neediness’ and his ‘cold manner.’

People closes the story with what everybody cares about – who will get the kids and the battle for the money.

With the election less than two weeks away, People magazine adds a savvy inset featuring Sarah Palin and her first dude husband answering readers questions.  I didn’t know that Sarah Palin is now answering questions.  HA!

And, I love the chihuahua inset.   Who knew that cute dog was a stray!  (I honestly haven’t seen the movie but this type of line works for everybody.)

Bottom Line: In these tough economic times, readers are trending towards buying People Magazine.  This week won’t be any different.
