But…
The National Enquirer has the strongest angle of the week.
According to the mag, Jennifer Hudson was the REAL TARGET.
This could have been the entire cover.
However, David Perel made a smart move by going with the Swayze Aniston combo.
As you saw earlier, both People and Us feature Jennifer Hudson as the main cover. This would not have boded well for the National Enquirer if they had a Hudson cover as well.
Bottom Line: Counter programming strategy will pay off for the Enquirer.
