A feud between Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

When Barack was making his historic acceptance speech in Chicago, weren’t you wondering why Oprah Winfrey was squeezed into the large crowd crying on that guy’s shoulder?
And, it looked like the camera crew had to work pretty hard to get a shot of Oprah’s face.
This was quite a different position for Oprah who earlier in the campaign gave a big endorsement on stage with Barack and Michelle.
Plus, she had that emotional show where she ‘unleashed’ hereself for Obama! following election night.
Could this be where Globe Magazine got the idea for this cover?
Possibly.
Sometimes that is where the idea starts and then the team gathers ‘reporting’ to support the idea.
Or, perhaps the team had reporting and the visuals/events support the cover feud story idea.
Either way, this cover is…
GENIUS!
It jumps on the hot Obama cover story and adds in a totally new element.
OPRAH! (I’m screaming her name in my head)
Plus, the cover features a fuming Michelle Obama clinging onto a stressed Barack looking towards an inset of a desperate Oprah. This is great visual packaging.
Bottom Line: The combination – especially after Barack Obama’s huge win – should prove to be a big winner for Globe this week on the newsstand.
