MSNBC reported that sales were approaching the two million mark on newsstands.
Multiple sources shared with CoverAwards that two million is low and that issue will easily break the two million mark. It could even be one of People magazine’s top two sellers of the year.
Larry Hackett and the People team definitely had a tough act to follow – but they came through with a very strong cover featuring the Obama family.
There’s an intense fascination with the Obama family, their move to the White House and, of course, the puppy for the Obama girls.
While the People cover from a few months ago featuring the Obama family didn’t fair very well on the newsstand according to reports, this one comes at a much different time.
Bottom Line: There’s a new Brangelina in the celebrity weekly category.
