Running for vice president of the United States and losing is close to paying off big time for Sarah Palin.

According to MSNBC, Sarah Palin is moving closer to inking a book deal that could earn her nearly $7 million, yes, $7 million.

Photographed above is Palin’s first book. In Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska’s Political Establishment Upside Down, author Kaylene Johnson—who grew up down the road from Palin’s home—details Palin’s rise to power, growing from Sarah Heath, an ambitious, competitive—and sometimes stubborn—child, to the state’s first female governor and one of the country’s most popular politicians.

Johnson’s biography reveals a Palin who is Alaskan to the core—while her college roommates put up posters of rock stars, the future governor admired Libby Riddles, the first woman to win the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race—and describes how a love of the outdoors, a spiritual upbringing and a strong family network shaped the woman, and the politician, that Palin is today.
