Hillary Clinton Turned Down Appropriations Chair to Become Secretary of State

Hillary Clinton (seen above on a recent New York Magazine cover) passed on becoming boss of the superpowerful Senate Appropriations Committee, according to the the Daily News.

As chairwoman of the panel that controls the nation’s purse strings, Clinton could have pumped billions in federal dollars into the Empire State.

Instead, she will serve as Secretary of State.
