You have to hand it to Tom Cruise’s PR team.
Mr. Cruise has landed another cover and this time it’s on the venerable People Magazine.
He was just for some unknown reason on the cover of Details’ Power issue.
So what gives?
I wish I knew what was going through Larry Hackett’s head on this one.
According to multiple sources, People looks like it has had a tough couple of weeks (like the rest of the category).
And, strangely, this marks the third week in a row there is a male star on the cover of People. Everybody knows that men don’t sell as well as women on covers – at least I thought that was what everybody knew.
Click here for last week’s Kevin Federline cover and here for People’s Michael J. Fox cover.
And, now Tom Cruise. Why, why, why? And what a strange headline “The Truth About My Family.” It almost makes you think like the magazine has a big tabloid exclusive. What? It’s not his family?
Adding to my utter confusion is the placement of Ricky Martin with his twin boys. It’s the top right inset and I must admit I almost missed it completely.
Surprised Ricky Martin didn’t make the full cover? I was wondering the same thing.
Perhaps, he refused to pull a Clay Aiken?
Bottom Line: Just asking. Did Tom Cruise have final editorial control over this article?
