Caroline Kennedy: In Desperate Need of a Media Trainer

Caroline Kennedy FINALLY sat down with reporters and defended why she would be a good candidate for Senator of NY.

Sadly, what was most noteworthy in the interview with the NY Daily News was the following excerpt:

  • “Displaying her notorious shyness during the 30-minute chat, the mother of three, author and public education advocate was pleasant, but spoke softly and rarely made eye contact. Her speech was often punctuated with extra “you knows” and “ums.”

Here’s an example of one of those quotes where’s she’s speaking about Andrew Cuomo’s experience and if he’s a good candidate for the Senate seat:

  • “You know, I think, you know, we’re sort of, uh, sharing some of this experience. And um, as I’ve said, he was a friend, a family member, and um so, and uh obviously, he’s, you know, he’s also had an impressive career in public office.”

This problem can be easily solved with the help of a professional media trainer.  Saying “ums” and “you knows” is a clear sign that Mrs. Kennedy is nervous or simply not prepared to answer the reporter’s questions.

She needs to rehearse with a pro that can help her feel more comfortable in these situations so she doesn’t continue to embarrass herself.

The media spotlight will only get stronger!
