You can tell this isn’t going to be a good week for OK!

It’s pretty simple.

This cover is DEPRESSING!

Who wants to read that Angelina CAN’T get pregnant?

The second reason this cover will NOT do well is because the magazine fails to put a specific detail on the cover describing her problem.   As a reader, I don’t buy this story – it simply appears to be extremely vague.

Finally, there is enough buzz around Angelina that she may already be pregnant that the reader will be caught off guard by this cover.

And, that’s the most important thing to understand in creating a cover – where is my reader with the story?  

Bottom Line: A weak start for 2009!
