Star Rolls Out Summer’s Weight Winners & Losers

This isn’t a new concept but IT DOESN’T MATTER.

Newsstand buyers will pick up this copy of Star Magazine in droves.

Why?

Candace Trunzo gets that we are in the middle of the summer.

While other magazines are going for diet covers, Star Magazine understands that the reader is pretty much giving up on losing weight for this summer.

The better option at this point is to show a visual, escape cover story that lets the readers gawk at the stars.

And, that’s what this type of story does.

As a reader, you’re simply picking up this issue to look at the pictures.  And, with a ton of them packed on the cover, you believe you’ll have many to look at while you’re at the pool, beach or sitting outside your trailer.

Bottom Line: While it’s not nice to point out celebrities trouble with weight, it will sell.  And that does matter.

Haven’t we all gotten over the fact that Kirsty Ally is fat. She’s been heavy for years and it’s not like she’s hiding it on the Jenny Craig commercials-how is this news?
