OK Magazine: What's Life Like for Michelle Williams & Daughter Matilda Without Heath Ledger?
Buy OK! Magazine HERE!
OK! hits newsstands today with a strong emotional cover line – “Life Without Daddy.”
The only problem – and it’s a big one – is that this line doesn’t work with these cover stars.
Why?
Michelle Williams is featured with daughter Matilda.
Average consumers will not immediately recognize this duo as they quickly glance through the newsstand. (Sorry, but Matilda’s not Shiloh or Suri.)
A simple switch of the line to ‘Life without Heath’ would have made much more sense.
Plus, I would have placed Heath’s picture in the main photo area, perhaps between Michelle and Matilda.
Right now, Heath is at the bottom of the magazine, which is often covered up on the newsstand.
On another note, I’d ask OK! magazine why now?
And, the one year anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death is not a strong enough answer.
While I applaud OK! for trying something different, this main cover topic is not one that “everybody” is talking about right now. And, that’s a recipe for DISASTER.
Finally, OK! magazine is gravitating towards depressing main cover topics. Remember that cover that shouted NO MORE BABIES for Angelina Jolie.
What the tabloid is forgetting is that consumers pick up these rags for escapism – not to relive the tragic death of a young star.
Bottom Line: Another slow week for OK!
